Step aboard the Birr Castle Discovery Train and enjoy a relaxed 25-minute journey through the stunning Demesne. Running every weekend, this tour offers a unique way to take in some of Birr Castle’s most iconic sights, with fascinating views and designated photo stops along the way.

As the train winds through the grounds, you’ll catch glimpses of the Formal Gardens, the world-famous Great Telescope, and the impressive exterior of Birr Castle itself — all from the comfort of your seat.

Please note: children must be accompanied, the experience is weather dependent, and passengers must remain seated at all times for safety. The train is not currently suitable for wheelchairs or buggies, as we continue to work towards more inclusive experiences.
