Our Charity
The Birr Scientific and Heritage Foundation was formed by the 7th Earl of Rosse back in 1985. A fully registered charity with its mission devoted to Preservation and Protection of its rich heritage and to Education and Inspire all those who visit.
The 7th Earl and Countess or Rosse have volunteered their time to ensure that the remarkable story of this unique site is shared and preserved for generations to come.
The charity today trades under the name of Birr Castle Demesne which runs as a visitor attraction and funds the charity through 5 key core funding channels, Admission, Membership, Retail, Grants and Café. Donations and sponsorship of various replanting projects also assist in the upkeep costs of this unique remarkable site.
