Can you go inside the castle?
The Castle is still a private family home and is only accessible with a seasonal guided tour.
What does my ticket include?
The general admission ticket includes access to; 120 acres of Parklands & Gardens, 7-Gallery Science Centre, Playground & Treehouse, Great Leviathan Telescope, iLOFAR, 5000 species of Plants & Trees and 10km of Walking Trails.
Is there on-site parking?
We do not have on-site parking here. We rely on the public car park beside the Marian Hall or alternatively have road parking outside the Demesne’s walls.
Are bikes and scooters allowed on-site?
Bikes, Scooters, Footballs, Hurls, Sliotars, Kites etc are not permitted on-site.
Is there a café on-site?
Yes, we have the seasonal courtyard café that is opened from 10.00 each day (weather permitting)
Can I bring a picnic?
Yes, you can bring a picnic into the Demesne! There are multiple locations throughout the Demesne where you can have your picnic!
Can we use drones?
Drones are not permitted to be used in the Demesne.
Can you walk dogs there?
Dogs are most welcome in the Demesne. They must stay on a short leash by their owner and is not permitted in the Science Centre or the Playground. There are dog poop bags available at reception to clean up after your dog.
Is there a playground?
We do have a playground that consists of a swing & slide area and a junior area for smaller children. Ireland's Tallest Treehouse is currently closed as it undergoes maintenance and additional upgraded design detail.

Does the telescope work?
The Great Leviathan Telescope is still in use! After its restoration in the late 1990’s, the telescope was back to its shining glory of 1845 when it was built. The last time this telescope was used was in the early 2000’s.
